Not much to report. Things are starting to pick back up. We have
some new members and some old ones returning. We also have a new ally,

Due to the incident of 9/11, things have sorta slowed to a crawl around here.
I think lately, people have other things on their mind (read my opening dialog
on the top of this page and you will see). Lots of things have changed.
First off, we got a new IP address for our servers. It is 64.95.6.193.
The line should be faster, but the piece of crap router they supplied may
wind up being a nitemare. I may have to move to a different service
because of it. We will see how things play out over the next few weeks.
However, CMF is here now, tomorrow, and FOREVER!

I know it has been a long time since any web site updates. What can
I say? "Been busy"? Well, we updated the CLQ listing, the members page (check
out some of the new members personal pages). We also got some of our
services back online. I hope you all had a good summer. Now its
time to get back to work or school (uck).

I first want to say thank you to all our friends for making our TWO YEAR
celebration fun and joyous! Secondly, I would like to speak with any
server admins that happen to pass by this page to contact me. I would
like to start sharing our banned player list with other servers in order
to keep the "bad apples" away from our comminuty.

The access levels should all be fixed now as well as the final update to
the admin. The sever is going to move its physical location in the
next couple of days. It should have happened a week ago, but every
time I want to move it, something comes up and I dont (like a software issue
or a hardwre issue). Thise move will not effect you in any way other
than the server being offline for about 15 minutes. Also, the vote
poll is offline so I cant reset the polls for this week.

The vote system is being implemented this week for the use of the second server.
The results will be posted and updated on a weekly basis. In addition,
here are the old headlines saved for eternity.
The first official clan match for CMF-X was held today against a clan known as AoD. It was a 6on6 matchup. Some CMF-X'ers were having connection problems, so reinforcements were called if from CMF. I must say, it was a brutal onslaught. However, they (AoD) proudly kept running towards their death and demise! After 1 and 1/2 rounds of play, the score was CMF-X 250, AoD 0. At this point, the match was called over. Once again, the victor was proven. In addition, I tip my hat to Tweeze, for this was his first outting leading his troops to battle. His orders were consise and clear. Everyone knew their role, and what was expected. Good Job Guys!
Last night we had a match with UPS. It was a hard fought match, but CMF was victorious once again. There were flying meds and concs everywhere, but our ruthless defense was ready for them! The match consisted of 3 rounds. However, CMF won the first 2, so the need for the third did not arise. The first map was 2fort. This is where they decided to attack with 4 meds. It might have worked, if they organized a little better, but our Defense never broke under the pressure. All entrances to the flag room were maintained under tight security. Not even a mouse could sneak through! CMF won this round 40-0. The next round was casbah. Once again, they tried their medic tatic, but that proved fruitless. There were a few small battles in which their offense taxed our defense. Attacking with a demo, HW, soldier, and a scout. It was obvious that this attack came with a plan in mind. The heavies will take out the defenses, while the scout sneaks through to grab the flag. Again, our defense was primed for the fight! And not only did the not cap our flag, they never saw the flag room at all! UPS, I admire your dedication, and if you had not been late delivering my pacakges, I might not have fought with so much hatred in my bones!
Our long awaited match with CPU has finally come and gone. I must say it was a hard fought battle for both sides. We played 3 30 minute rounds. Maps were Well, Casbah, and 2fort. The first map was the Well. This map went back and forth. Getting close to the timelimit, they were ahead by 1. Then, just at the buzzer, Acidsnake caps to tie the score! The next map was casbah. First onslaught went tough for both sides, each coming out with a cap. But then, something seemed to happen. The men in blue rallied! Not allowing another cap from red for the rest of the entire evening. CPU could not get close to the flag anymore after that. As hard as they tried, they pushed and pushed, but the CMF Defense was relentless. Not giving an inch. All the while, the AWESOME CMF Offense was pushing and capping! Casbah ended 40-10 CMF. The final map was 2fort. I feel sorry for the fool that thinks he can take us in 2fort. In the beginning, they attacked on 2 at a time. That was their downfall. 2 CPU can not get past 4 CMF! No way, no how! After the score started tilting in CMF favor, they realized there error. They started attacking in threes and even fours. Still, no one can cap my flag! 2Fort ended 50-0 CMF! As per the rules of engagement, CMF wins, 2 rounds to 0 with 1 as a tie. It was an excellent match CPU, I tip my cannon for you!

OKay, as I am sure most of you already know, the server is offline once again. Thanks to our lovely DSL provider, TELOCITY, who I must say is the worst company ever created. If anyone out there, that is reading this, works for or knows someone who works for Telocity or Megapath, have them contact me so we can discuss how good their product really isn't. This is the second time in as many months that the service has been down for days on end. IF anyone is with pheonix or north point, bail out and get a different service. I am moving ours, and I will tell you who after we sign up (dont want any more congestion slowing down my install).

As promised from long ago, the server stats are now processed on a more real
time basis (every 2 hours). It is also hosted in house, so I do not
need to worry about the upload. The link is below, so chech it out.
Also, CLQ stats are messed up. There server is like a week behind.
When it updates, I will.

For reasons yet unknown, we have a rotating port number. I just now
got off the phone with the ISP, and we are going to jointly create a standard
port map (or NAT Table). So, within the next few days, this issue should
be resolved.

The day has finally arrived!!! As of 10:14 of this fine morn, the server
is once again reborn. Its new home is now 216.223.57.193:10284.
This time, it is gonna ROCK!!!!

The day is near, the mega line is coming... the telco people should be here
on the 24th. Arrangements are still being made for the final install
tech to come. Next week this time, we will be runnin over a meg!

The CMF Member Contract has been updated to reflect some current policy changes.
You are all required to have the updated version. Please contact Killer
to obtain a copy. In addition, our weekly meetings are used to discuss
some items that may be reflected in a policy change. If you want your
voice heard, that is the forum for it. If you do not attend the meetings,
you may never know what is happening, why it is happening, or be able to
offer any suggestions or help. Wednesday evenings is more than just
a general chat session (even though sometimes it may seem like that).
It is a time for you to voice any questions or concerns that you may have.

This will change once the T1 is installed.

Due to technical difficulties, we did not run the battle royal last week.
I will attempt to make repairs and we will give it another shot this coming
thursday. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE MAP AND ALL THE REQUIRED WAD FILES,
CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY! In addition, I am redoing the user database.
If you have not yet registered a password with me, do so NOW because if you
dont you will not be authenticated to enter the server.

Well, AcidSnake has reclaimed his dominance as the top CMF, but I think that
is going to change. The second running of the CMF Battle Royal has
produced Mynock as the victor. Watch out Acid, I think he may be gunning

The progress of the Battle Royal map is coming along nicely. Hopefully,
it will be finished this week and we can have a trial run on thursday.

Well, we could not come up with a good map for the up coming battle royal,
so... we decided to make one! It should be done within a week's time,
so get prepared! We will have a one kill walk through a few nights
before the real match is scheduled to begin, just in case something needs
to be worked out. Oh, remember I said that there might be a prize?
Well there is! I picked it up yesterday. Its not much, and not
really what I wanted for the first CMF battle Royal, but it's nice.
Something you will never get again.
Breifly, here are the rules:
1) 3 deaths and you are out
2) health and armor are scattered throughout the map
3) the map is basicly a big open area, there are some boxes and sanbags to
hide behind
4) no hiding, take your licks like a man
5) there will be 2 refs keeping score (so dont shoot at the blue men running
around)
6) you can be any class you wish (we may decide at some point to put a limit
of say 2 per class, but we are still working on that). I would like
to see all classes represented here.
In addition, we are still going to hold the medic death match tryout this tuesday. I planned on doing it last thursday, but the server was not being nice. I hate when valve does that. Patches always mess everyone up for about a week or so....
The admin stuff is still offline pending an upgrade. It seems that valve is doing something different that crashes admin. The programmers are working on it. As soon as I get a working fix, I will turn it back on.

Anyone interested in the open class tournament, please let either myself or
liquid know. We are currently working up match schedules. In
addition, we are also finalizing the date for the battle royal. All
interested parties should register before the spots are all taken up... there
will be 2 refs so there are only 10 open spots left.

The results of the engy tournament is in, and man was that a fight to the
end.... after 30 minutes of blood soaked battleing, Loki and Rapture were
even (after ping corretion factor applied). So, then we played another
5 minute round. Still even. It went to a sudden death and Loki
finally pulled it off. What a battle! Loki, You can now call
yourself Chief Engineer of CMF! Raputre, that was a good fight.
You started off strong, and I thought you were gonna take him.

Things have been going great, and I am sure that all of you guys see the
same thing. We are about to pick up the pace a bit, so buckle in and
get ready for the ride!!! I made some changes to the web site, if any

sorta like clq, but only tracks our server. depending on how things
go, I might replace the clq ranking with a CMF ranking based on server stats.

new guys.... and their scores are more than just impressive... caun is rankes
in the top 100!!! Well, as usual, CLQ stopped responding on thursday,
so, as you will see, the listing is as if 8/31/00. I know that I personally
put in a lot more time since then. So, we will see what happens, I
will check back every now and then and see what they are up to.

I got the new machine for the server all built, that dual p3 is only a few
days away. I want to do a burn in and see how it does before i put
it online. well guys, keep up the good work. Oh, by the way,

Well guys, I must say things are coming along very nicely. new members
are joining, more want in that we have room for... the server is ALWAYS full.
What can I say, but that I am very happy. I have installed new software
on the server which gives everyone vote and kick rights. To activate,
goto the console and type admin_vote_kick playername or admin_vote_map mapname.
This will initiate a vote and if there are enough votes, the change will
occur. In addition, I am going to reserve slots for CMF in the server.
In order for that to occur, you need to give me a name and password.
The name has to be your TFC name exactly.

The DSL line was finally installed, but Bell Atlantic screwed something up
and my router was unable to sync with the dslam.... oh well... we waited this
long,a few more days wont kill us... but its close my friends, oh so close!

I first would like to wish my dearest friend Jose a safe journey to his new
life. The pain has ended now my friend, go find your wife and be happy

In addition, the CLQ has been experienceing some techinical difficulties. So, I will post what they have. I may keep a 2 week running log so people dont get annoyed. But, since I was #1 CMF last week (668 in the world) I think we can forgo last weeks results. In addition, I found a beautiful piece on the current sniper situation in the TFC world. May the Almighty have mercy on their soles once I find them!!! I found this piece in a news group. It needs a little editing for display purposes, but it comes from a member of clan [TiT]. Once it is finished editing, I will post it.

Omega, I have been watching you, and you were in the top 10 of all TFC for
most of the week only to be edged out at the last minute. Damn that
sux. Also, in case you are wondering, InsaneRat is not a new CMF, just
a member that is trying a different name. Check your email for a status

server. We have our choices narrowed down to one of 2 possibilities.

Well, this weeks results are in. Congrats to Omega for takin top spot
this week. I think Liquil may have topped him if he didnt have to reformat
again. If I would have had more online time, I think with my
incredible FPM, I may have topped again this week. But, no excuses,

I see more CMF'ers got rated this week than last. That is excellent.

Due to certain incidents that have transpired over the past week, we have
implemented some new rules to make things crystal clear as to what is acceptable
behavior. In addition, we are also working on some high bandwidth training
servers. As soon as the details are finalized, if ever it seems to be taking
longer than expected, I will inform you when this actually happens.
At that point, practice will be mandatory. There will be at least 2
practices a week, maybe three depending on how things go.
